Where Sedona Started
Oak Creek Canyon is a different kind of Sedona living.
Oak Creek Canyon stretches 15 miles north from Sedona along Highway 89A toward Flagstaff, threading along the year-round Oak Creek through the Coconino National Forest. Unlike red rock Sedona, this is shade, pine, sycamore, and the sound of running water. Inventory here is tight: the canyon is mostly federal land, which means scarcity is permanent. Stream-front lots almost never come up. When they do, they go fast.
My family started buying in the canyon in the 1950s, and I’ve personally closed transactions in nearly every major canyon community. I know which lots have flood plain considerations, which properties have well or shared water issues, and which streets have ongoing rockfall concerns from the canyon walls. If you’re considering Oak Creek Canyon, tell me what matters to you and I’ll send you a short list worth touring.
